I’m Pete

I want to be your Representative in the Minnesota House. I believe government exists to solve our collective problems. I believe taxes are inevitable and necessary, so they must be applied fairly and reasonably and for the benefit of all people.

My Experience

As a small business owner (I’ve owned restaurants, including Eskomo Pizza Pies in Esko, and I am the publisher of the Pine Knot News), I understand what our businesses need. As a lawyer (I’ve practiced in Carlton County for over 22 years), I understand the issues facing families and workers. And as the host of the political talk show “Harry’s Gang” I spend a considerable amount of time studying and analyzing the issues, with people from the ‘right’ and from the ‘left’..

District 11A

We need someone to represent everyone in 11A- from those going through our education system to those working to pay the bills and those who have already done both. Business owners and industry leaders need fair consideration. Families, laborers, educators, business people - everyone works together to make our society function for everyone. That’s why we live here.

Government Today

Too many elected leaders seem to govern only for the benefit of their political party. They seem to be against anything the other party presents, even if it’s good for their constituents. That’s no way to govern. The ‘winner-takes-all’ approach has become ‘everybody loses except a few’.

I intend to change that. As your Representative, I’ll look out for all the people of Carlton County and the parts of Pine and St. Louis Counties in House District 11A.
